10:00 - apple
1:00 - chicken, egg, tomato, balsamic
4:00 - apple and a few graham crackers
8:30 - 3 steak tacos, avocado, 1 med Horchata(LBT is the best!)
I spent a little bit of time getting my bike ready to be on the trainer today. Can't wait to start next week! I have also gotten my Heart Rate monitor in order and will be calculating my training zones this weekend, based on my max heart rate and resting heart rates. There is a lot of conflicting information out there as to what levels to be training at. I seem to have found a basic understanding of these 2 levels:
60-70% of max = endurance training/recovery
85-90% of max = Lactate Threshold
I found this as well:
"The Heart Rate Intensity Zones are divided as follows:
- Zone 1 65% of MHR (recovery rides)
- Zone 2 65-72% of MHR (endurance events)
- Zone 3 73-80% of MHR (high level aerobic activity)
- Zone 4 84-90% of MHR (lactate threshold(LT,AT); time trialing)
- Zone 5 91-100% of MHR (sprints and anaerobic training)
The best approach is to stay below 80% of maximum heart rate (zones 1 to 3) on your easy days to build an aerobic base while allowing day to day recovery, and then push above 85% when it's time to go hard to improve your high level performance. But avoid training in the no man's land or mediocre middle at 80-85% of MHR where it's too difficult to maintain the pace for the long rides needed to build endurance and allow some recovery time, but not hard enough to significantly improve your aerobic performance and increase your lactate threshold."
Any one out there have a differing opinion?? Or more information? Any good resources for info?
